This weekend, August 28 & 29, along the Thea Foss Waterway the Annual Tacoma Maritime Festival is taking place.
For the 1st time in nearly 20 years the festival will showcase Unlimited Light Hydroplanes. The racers will circle a course located between the Temco grain terminal and the head of the Thea Foss Waterway. When not in the water for two daily races the hydros will be available for photographs and inspection near the Seaport’s parking lot at 705 Dock Street. Along with the hydros, the festival will feature appearances by the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain, which will be moored in Tacoma from August 24-30.

2010 marks the 17th year where the community comes together to learn and enjoy the thrills of what the Working Waterfront has to offer. They invite you to board boats and trains, build or paddle boats, paint, watch the hydro exhibition and learn Tacoma’s Thea foss history!
