Mark Simons Owner of Lakewood and Fife Auto Repair ShopsOwner, Rolf’s Import Auto Service

Growing up in the automotive industry, Mark has always had a fascination with luxury performance vehicles. As Mark grew up, his father Rolf always drove European vehicles. His father specialized in these vehicles, and he passed on his passion for the quality in the manufacturing of these vehicles on to Mark – the way the vehicles handle driving down the road, the performance of the vehicle, how quiet the vehicles are while driving, to the way the doors and panels all fit to perfection. These are all examples of the attention to quality you get with luxury performance vehicles.

Upon completion of high school, Mark began his own career in customer service, never forgetting his passion for vehicles. By the age of 24, Mark had become a Food and Beverage Manager at Fircrest Golf Club, and over the next three years was part of the management team that was involved in the construction of a new facility. Upon completion of the new clubhouse, Mark was promoted to Clubhouse Manager, where he stayed until leaving to further his career in 1999.

Mark accepted a position as an Assistant General Manager for a Country Club in Midland, TX, where he was involved in changing the food and beverage programs of the club and creating a club experience that became well-liked by its membership and profitable for the operation of the club.

Over the next two years, Mark succeeded in changing several other operations of the club to where better services were being provided and costs had better controls. In that time, the General Manager had left the Club, giving Mark the opportunity to become the Interim General Manager for the remainder of the year. Over the following 6-month period, services continued to improve and costs were lowered to improve the bottom line for the Club.

Then, with the birth of his first child with is loving wife Sara, and knowing the quality of life for individuals in the industry, Mark decided to leave the Country Club industry to pursue his passion for luxury performance vehicles.

Mark began working with his father Rolf in December 2001, and for the next seven years he was able to learn extensively about the vehicles and put his management skills to work – changing some of the services provided, as well as recruiting quality technicians and customer service representatives. Mark purchased the business from Rolf in 2008.

Now, with two locations (Lakewood and Fife), Mark looks forward to the challenges of running both locations as well as keeping up with the constantly changing technologies of the automotive industry.
